H.O. Bowley Ltd is a family business based in Loughborough, with a factory of 50 circular knitting machines.

We can cater for any companies individual needs, with our wide variety of machine capabilities. From Interlock, Single Jersey, Rib, Fleece, Sports and Plush fabrics in Cotton, all Synthetics, Anti-Statics and Fire Retardant yarns. We can tailor our machines to meet your specifications. H. Bowley as we were first known was founded in 1863 by Henry Bowley who manufactured bow ties.

By the 1920's we had moved to our present site in Loughborough with Henry's son Harry Oscar taking over the reins, who injected a new lease of life into the company after purchasing a number of knitting machines. Harry added his middle name to the business name and from then on we were known as H.O. Bowley.

The company had a set back during world war two when we were closed down for around four years by the Ministry of Defence to store mustard gas and munitions.

H.O. Bowley has continued to be a family business with Harry's son Walter then taking over the firm. Shortly after Walter's death the company passed on to his son and daughter Nick and Janet, who both ran the company until Janet retired just after the turn of the millennium.

Today H.O. Bowley Ltd has father and son directors of Nick and Chris, who have a wide range of knowledge in the textile business which has been passed down through each of our family's generation. Over the past few years we have had to diversify into other areas of textile including fire proofed fabrics and corporate wear.
